Later Bloomers

This is a great time of year in the Geek Gardens Greenhouse.  The stress of the summer is over and the plants are enjoying the last bit of sunlight before the winter comes.  A few of the succulents are even coming into bloom.  One that was quite a surprise to us this year was this cotyledon succulent.

IMG_8414We got this variety two years ago, but this is the first year that it has bloomed.  It is absolutely stunning! Besides the blooming succulents, we are gearing up for another season of holiday art and craft markets.  All the work this summer with propagating has given us more plants than we have ever had!  It will be so exciting to have so many plants to work with!

IMG_8417Here is a picture of our overgrown plugs.  It is time to get these into individual pots and let them gain some size before dormancy in winter. It is so much more fun putting together succulent terrariums and plantings when there is an abundance of material to work with!

IMG_8418These are some echeveria minima that were potted a few weeks ago.  The temperature and light conditions in the greenhouse are just perfect for growth and these have really filled out their pots!  This is another one of those succulents that is just amazing in bloom!

Hope you all have a great weekend!
